National Food Safety Standard of the P.R.C.: Polydimethylsiloxane and aqueous emulsions (preparations) of polydimethylsiloxane

Product Image

Distribution date: 24 May 2013 | Final date for Comment: 23 July 2013

This national standard applies to polydimethylsiloxane and aqueous emulsions (preparations) of polydimethylsiloxane. Polydimethylsiloxane consists of fully methylated linear siloxane polymers containing repeating units of the formula [(CH3)2SiO] with trimethylsiloxy end-blocking units of the formula (CH3)3SiO-. This additive is produced by hydrolysis of a mixture of dimethyldichlorosilane and a small quantity of trimethylchlorosilane. The aqueous emulsions in commerce are produced by emulsifying polydimethylsiloxane with addition of water and necessary auxiliaries.

Products Covered: Tariff item number for polydimethylsiloxane: 3910000000; Tariff item number for aqueous emulsions (preparations) of polydimethylsiloxane: 3402900090
