Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture No. 139/Permentan/PD.410/12/2014 concerning Importation of Carcasses, Meat and/or Its Processed Products Into the Territory of the Republic of Indonesia

The regulation is based on Law No. 18 of 2009 concerning Livestock and Animal Health, and seeks to optimize the importation services on carcasses, meat and/or its products into the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. It is deemed necessary to rearrange the importation of animal products by stipulating the regulation on importation of carcasses, meat and/or its products into the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. The regulation is intended to be the legal basis to conduct importation, with the aim to: protect public health, animal health and environmental health; ensure fulfilment of the requirements linked to safety and health-related concerns, as well as legal obligations; ensure imported carcasses, meat and/or its processed products are free from zoonoses and animal infectious diseases, chemical and physical hazards; provide certainty in importation of carcasses, meat and/or its processed products.
