Notice of Intent to Amend the Prescription Drug List (PDL): Mometasone furoateThe proposed amendment notified in G/TBT/N/CAN/435 (dated 11 December 2014) was adopted on 9 February 2015.The purpose of this Notice of Intent to Amend is to notify that, as a result of consultation, Health Canada will revise the listing for Adrenocortical hormones on the Prescription Drug List (PDL) to exempt Mometasone furoate. Health Canada has conducted a scientific review of Mometasone furoate against the set of established and publicly available criteria outlined in section C.01.040.3 of the Food and Drug Regulations. The regulation is based on Law No. 18 of 2009 concerning Livestock and Animal Health, and seeks to optimize the importation services on carcasses, meat and/or its products into the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. It is deemed necessary to rearrange the importation of animal products by stipulating the regulation on importation of carcasses, meat and/or its products into the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. The regulation is intended to be the legal basis to conduct importation, with the aim to: protect public health, animal health and environmental health; ensure fulfilment of the requirements linked to safety and health-related concerns, as well as legal obligations; ensure imported carcasses, meat and/or its processed products are free from zoonoses and animal infectious diseases, chemical and physical hazards; provide certainty in importation of carcasses, meat and/or its processed products.
